CSG Successfully Present at the 17th IFIP/IEEE Symposium on Integrated Network and Service Management 2021 (IM 2021)

The 17th IFIP/IEEE Symposium on Integrated Network and Service Management 2021 (IM 2021) was planned to be held in Bordeaux, France, May 17-21, 2021. However, here the pandemic moved as well all presentations and sessions during that time in May into a full week of online mode interactions.

The CSG did place successfully 4 peer-reviewed papers within the IM 2021 Program in different categories and had been invited, too, to present a tutorial. Starting on Monday during the symposium's week, the tutorial on "Blockchain-based Remote Electronic Voting from Theory to Practice" was presented by Christian Killer, Bruno Rodrigues, Eder Scheid, Muriel Franco, and Burkhard Stiller.

As well on Monday, the Mini-Conference MC3 slot did see the presentation of "iTrade: A Blockchain-based, Self-Sovereign, and Scalable Marketplace for IoT Data Streams" given by Sina Rafati Niya and co-authored by Danijel Dordevic and Burkhard Stiller. Furthermore, this presentation was supported by the IEEE ComSoc Student Travel Grant (STG) for Sina, who was informed about its reception just during the week before IM 2021 started.

The continuation of CSG presentations led within Tuesday's Dissertation Session (chaired by Burkhard, one of the IM 2021 Dissertation Session Co-chair besides Radu State) to Bruno Rodrigues' Ph.D. thesis - which did receive during its formal defense at UZH in December 2020 the "with distinctions" award - presentation on the topic of "The Cooperative DDoS Signaling based on a Blockchain-based System".

Additionally, the full paper on "BluePIL: A Bluetooth Passive Indoor Localization Method" given by Bruno Rodrigues and co-authored by Cyrill Halter, Muriel Franco, Eder John Scheid, Christian Killer, and Burkhard Stiller followed on Wednesday's Session TS5 on "Wireless/Radio Networks", which was based on Cyrill's Master Thesis performed within the CSG.

Finally, the experience paper on "Digital Mobile Onboarding in Switzerland - a Hands-on Experience" was presented by Nicolas Gordillo, who performed his Master Thesis with the CSG on this topic. This IM paper within Thursday's Session ES2 on "Issues and Experiences with Practical Deployments" was co-authored by Bruno Rodrigues, Christian Killer, Thomas Bocek, and Burkhard Stiller, from which Thomas and Nicolas are now with Axelra AG.

All these papers are part of the IM 2021 Proceedings, available in an Open Access model from the IFIP Digital Library at the following link: http://dl.ifip.org/db/conf/im/index.html, separated into "IFIP/IEEE International Symposium on Integrated Network Management, IM 2021, Bordeaux, France, May 18-20, 2021" at the top of this Web page for all full papers, and into "Dissertation Papers", "Experience Papers", and "Mini-Conference Papers" close to the bottom of the "2021: Bordeaux, France" entries.
