Project Overview
The key goal of the AMAAIS project is the extension of the existing AAI infrastructure, operated by SWITCH. These extensions include services in terms of accounting and monitoring, which enhance the current AAI services. In consequence, a cross-university-wide accounting as well as supervision of these AAI services will be possible. While AMAAIS Phase 1 defined the essential scenarios as well as key requirements for the accounting and monitoring architecture, AMAAIS Phase 2 specified this architecture, implemented a prototype, and integrated a pilot into the existing AAI infrastructure.
AMAAIS Phase 3 aims at an extension beyond the accounting and monitoring extensions of Phases 1 and 2. Phase 3 extensions relate not only to a content- and implementation-wise completion of the system, they also embrace the addition of new functionality and trials under operational conditions.
- Completion addresses the path taken in accounting and monitoring extensions. It foresees, for instance, the existing statistical evaluations to newly cover forward-looking needs too, such as cross-domain interchange of aggregated accounting information, customizable usage reports and the integration into a monitoring tool with alerting (Nagios).
- Addition of new functionality addresses new paths to be taken beyond accounting and monitoring. It foresees the design and implementation of security and charging extensions. The trials under operational constraints, finally, address an extensive testing of existing extensions with users and in a productive environment.
