The P2P (peer-to-peer) technology has seen a raise in use and was applied to many different applications. Its use in video streaming and Video-on-Demand (VoD), however, is not always fully exploited by today, especially not in a fully integrated combination. Therefore, the LiveShift system was developed to enable a detailed study of suitable P2P mechanisms for such streaming applications.

The aim of this assignment is to design and implement a public-key insfrastructure in LiveShift. While implementations of cryptographic algorithms are available, the challenge lies on combining those features in the LiveShift protocol, taking all significant aspects into account.
