Exercises

Every week the students will receive one theoretical exercise sheet. The exercises will be discussed with the supervisor in an exercise group a week later. In total, there will be 12 Exercise sheets.

In this lecture, exercise preparation is mandatory for all students which are to be admitted to the final (written or oral) exam. Without exception, a confirmation of exercise preparation entails the possibility for a student of being asked to present his solution in the exercise groups.

In order to be admitted to the final (written or oral) exam, every student has to fulfill the following requirements:

Preparation of at least ten of the thirteen (10/12) exercise sheets during the semester, before their respective deadline.
Each submitted exercise should meet a significant quality and all answers must be precise as it would be in an exam.
Presentation of results at least two out of the ten submitted on-time exercises dates. During the presentation of the results in the class keep in mind the following: (a) you cannot choose when to present results and which questions to answer, (b) you cannot consider your answers, or any course material, (c) it is your responsibility to be present in the class during the exercises so you will have the chance to be selected twice to present your answers, (d) if you cannot provide complete and correct answer to the question that the supervisor will ask you, the exercise set will be considered not sent, and (e) you cannot answer questions if you have not submitted your exercises on time.

Students are required to send a confirmation email including their solutions after preparation of an exercise sheet. Based on these confirmations, they may be called for presentation of parts of the respective solution of the exercise sheet in their exercise groups.

Please contact the supervisors if you're unable to attend the exercise groups (due to sickness or military exercise).

Please send a PDF file with your solutions to exercise coordinator (Corinna Schmitt and Sina Rafati) until 12pm (latest by 23:59:59) the Sunday before the exercise discussion.

Don't forget to add into your submission your full name, e-mail address, and your matriculation number.
