UEFA EURO 2008 Streaming

For the duration of the UEFA EURO 2008, the Swiss TV sports channel SF2 is broadcast over the IFI wired network. This service is offered by CSG and is available to all IFI members.

Setup and Configuration

The signal is delivered as an MPEG UDP multicast stream in the following IFI subnets:

• 130.60.155.0/24
• 130.60.156.0/24

Within these subnets the stream can be received using a multicast-enabled, MPEG-capable streaming client such as VLC, which is available for Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, and many other platforms.

To display the stream in VLC, these steps have to be followed:

• File > Open Network Stream...
• Select "UDP/RTP Multicast", Address: 239.0.0.1, Port: 2000
• Click "OK"

In addition, the local firewall has to be configured to allow incoming traffic on UDP port 2000.
